Ashraf Megahed MD, PhD. Consultant Neurosurgeon
Doctor Megahed graduated from, Mansoura University Medical School, Egypt in 1996. He did his residency training in Mansoura University Hospitals, Egypt for six years during which he obtained a Master Degree in Neurosurgery. Thereafter, he travelled to the United States for subspecialty Fellowship training at Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, Arizona where he did a Pediatric Neurosurgery Clinical Fellowship under Prof. Dr. Harold Rekate, the former head of The American and International Societies of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He also did two Research Fellowships in Skull Base surgery and Spine surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. He obtained a PhD degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt for his extensive research in the field of gene mutations in patients with craniosynostosis and their surgical reconstructive techniques. He received his Neurosurgical Doctorate Degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2009 and was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Mansoura University Hospitals where he also holds the academic position of an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery. He performed another Clinical Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at Acibadem University Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey in 2016 under Prof. Dr. Memet Ozek, The Former Head of the European Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He published several research papers internationally and was an invited speaker in several international conferences.
Dr. Megahed joined Doha Clinic Hospital as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in 2015.
Dr. Megahed has an extensive experience in image guided injections for cervical and lumbar spinal pain, percutaneous disc decompression as well as endoscopic and microscopic surgery for spinal , brain and peripheral nerve disorders.
